History
In 1997 we began our preschool program at our old church site on Grandview Avenue knowing we would be building a new facility and wanting that new facility to meet the needs of families 7 days a week. We wanted to provide quality care and education for children under the age of 5 years old.
In 2003 we moved to our current site and re-named our program Grand View, since our site is the high point of the city. At that time we added infant care, expanded our preschool program and hours of operation. Our building was designed by an architect to meet the needs of all of our children.
School Organization
We are a part of Grand View United Methodist Church and are a non-profit organization according to Section 510c3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
The program is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors that is composed of the Director, the Pastor, members and non-members of the church, and includes people with and without children in the program.
The Board determines program policies in the area of finance, strategic planning, and administrative accountability.
The Board, Director, Administrative and Teaching Staff work together as a team to lead the school in accomplishing its mission of providing superior early childhood education. The Director is the primary person charged with implementing the program’s strategic plan, as determined by the Board of Directors. The Director is responsible for promoting the school, managing enrollment, overseeing financial transactions, maintaining the rooms and materials, providing school communications and correspondence, fulfilling licensing requirements, and hiring of staff and promoting their professional growth.
