We call our small groups "Cell Groups" for one main reason: The church is to be the living body of Jesus, alive in the world. Just as human cells are the building blocks of the body, so too are Cell Groups the building blocks of a healthy and vital congregation.
Being in a Cell Group is an important part of growing into a more mature disciple of Jesus. Thus, Cell Groups are a crucial part of our Discipleship System here at Grand View United Methodist Church. Along with participation in Worship Celebrations (Love God) and engaging in service within and outside our walls (Serve the World), active involvement in a Cell Group is one of the means through which God works to grow us.
Our Cell Group Ministry is held on various days and times throughout the week for maximum availability. The structure of Cell Groups is simple: do readings and prayers everyday, and meet with your Cell Group once a week for an hour. Meetings are held at various times and locations for your convenience.
Cell Group is not a Bible study, nor is it a counseling or therapy group. During the hour-long meeting, the Cell Group conversation centers around one of two questions: "How is it with your spirit?" (Your connection to God) and/or "What was your experience with the Scripture readings and questions this week?"
