Real Inside and Out

In Week 3 of The Real Thing, we talk about real church—what it is, why it matters, and how we keep it authentic. From Matthew 23, Jesus confronts religious hypocrisy that looks good on the outside but is empty on the inside, and then turns the spotlight back on us: are we truly living as God’s called-out people (the ecclesia)? This message reminds us that the church isn’t a building or a social club—it’s a Spirit-formed community meant to continue the work of Jesus through worship, Scripture, prayer, generosity, fellowship, and public witness.
